Mrs. Jane Davis began Tiny Tot in 1977 and we have been in the same location for over 30 years and in the Louisville community for over 35 years. Greg and Jenn Taylor purchased Tiny Tot in February of 2014. Our passion is to have a safe loving environment where our children learn to love learning from the start.
We feel that all of the children that have passed through the door are a part of our Tiny Tot family. We feel all children should be treated fairly, with respect, and lots of love. Our staff are experienced, compassionate, nurturing, and loving people who regard your child as their own. We believe that all children learn at different speeds and we seek to accommodate that from the very start. In addition to every teacher creating weekly lesson plans and working with each child to reach developmental and age appropriate milestones, we have have a number of extra spaces specifically devoted to children’s learning and development. These include our computer center’s, 3 different age appropriate gym spaces, an outdoor playground space, and seasonal learning events.
Infants to Toddlers
Tiny Tot accepts children as young as 6 weeks. Our experienced staff provides lots of nurturing and love to our littlest charges. While your newest member of the family is in our care we provide a calm atmosphere designed to create a smooth transition from home to daycare. Daily Reports are provided as to feeding, diaper changes, nap time, and about their overall day while at Tiny Tot Academy. As your child reaches those “firsts” milestones they will move with other children, in the same age group, throughout their education at Tiny Tot Academy.
Toddlers to Graduation
As your child grows and learns about life and the world outside, Tiny Tot has an excellent curriculum designed to exceed Jefferson County Public School and local private school requirements for entrance into Kindergarten. Our programs include:
- Healthy Teeth and Brushing
- Stranger Danger
- Puppet Shows
- Yoga and Dance Fitness
- Science Projects
- Earth Awareness
- Healthy Eating and Cooking
We celebrate the year with activities such as Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Egg Hunts, and Christmas.
Our Pre-School and Pre-K teachers are dedicated to ensuring every child receives the positive guidance that ensures continued success and builds a foundation that will carry them forward in the next phase of their life and educational setting.
Safety is a primary concern at Tiny Tot. We have key coded security entrances, and require picture identification and a phone call before a child is released to anyone not initially authorized.
Tiny Tot Academy is proud of being licensed with the Cabinet of Health and Family Services for over 35 years. We exceed requirements for both the Health Department and Fire Department inspections. We conduct monthly Fire, Tornado, and Earthquake drills.
We require staff to be CPR and First Aid certified for both infants and adults, within 90 days of beginning employment.
Our Staff is consistently increasing their knowledge base with yearly continuing education classes. New staff members must pass a criminal and child abuse registry background check.
